Illinois SR22 Insurance
Cheapest SR22 non owner and auto insurance Illinois
High risk drivers are required to have a Certificate of Financial Responsibility (CFR) SR22 on file with the Illinois Secretary of State prior to license reinstatement. The SR22 filing serves as proof that you have the required liability coverage to restore your driving privileges, while also enabling the state to monitor your Financial Responsibility status. CFR is required in Illinois for license suspensions, revocations, DUI, unsatisfied judgments, and multiple driving convictions.

How the SR-22 Filing Process Works
When you have found an insurance agent that you feel confident can file your SR-22 quickly, accurately and at a fair price, a down payment is made to start your policy and SR22 filing. Once the payment is approved and the policy is issued, the insurance carrier electronically submits the SR-22 certificate to the Illinois Secretary of State. The individual named insured will receive a copy of the policy, SR-22 from, and insurance ID card. The SR22 insurance must be maintained for three consecutive years. If the SR-22 expires or is cancelled, the insurance company is required by law to file an SR-26, this confirms to the state that the policy is cancelled. Unfortunately, this means your driver’s license will be suspended again and will not be reinstated until your Financial Responsibility insurance is active.
